Strange redirects deeper than page structure...
-
Dear Appdrag team,
When I moved my website from Wordpress, I had a few problems with redirecting pages with trailing slash "/" to pages without a slash and without .HTML extension. You've offered me a solution and you redirected (on your side) all pages with trailing slash to the same pages without it. It was great solution as google had pages indexed with the slash and I wasn't missing a click from the SERPs. Everything happened 10 months ago and since then all pages were reindexed and are displaying in serps without a trailing slash and without .html extensions.
Recently, when I checked google search console I noticed google crawls some of my pages using the path I never used before: www.mydomain/blog/page. They're obviously excluded and shows as a page with redirects.
These pages are not articles in the blog, they are my normal pages from top menu which are indexed properly anyway, but somehow robots trying to get addresses like domain/blog/webpageaddress.
When I tried AHREFS audit, it crawls the same as google. And of course, ahrefs score is lower, because it says it is a redirect chain... . It is not a redirect loop, just redirect from domain/blog/page -->HTTP://domain/page -->https://domain/page
I'm not worrying about the score, but there are many unnecessary crawl requests. Crawlers trying to get pages deeper than they actually are...
I think this is maybe because that redirection solution you offered me months ago?
Could you please remove this redirection on your side, please? All my pages are indexed in serps properly and I don't need redirection from "trailing slash" pages anymore...
Ahrefs says the redirect was first spotted on my first article domain/1.-article.html , but I couldn't find anything wrong with the links? Can you help to resolve this. Or at least remove those global redirections and I will wait and see if this is still the case.
I Attach 2 pictures: from GSC and AHREFSmy website is www.londonviptransfers.co.uk
Thank you
