Southwest Airlines Pet Policy permits small vaccinated dogs and cats to travel with passengers in the aircraft cabin. Pets must be secured in an airline-approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of you. The nonrefundable pet fare is $95 each way. According to the Southwest Airlines Pet Policy, only one pet carrier is allowed per passenger, and it can hold up to two pets of the same type. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Pets are not transported in the cargo hold. Different rules apply for trained service and emotional support animals.
