The Apostrophe Figure of Speech where a speaker addresses an absent person, an abstract idea, or a thing as if it were present and capable of understanding. For instance, in Shakespeare's "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" the speaker addresses Romeo, even though he is not physically present. This device allows for deeper expression of emotion and reflection, often highlighting the speaker's personal feelings or thoughts about the absent entity.
