URL Redirects not working...

I'm setting up URL redirects from a site we are migrating from an old site.
However, none of these redirects work when I test them.
Are we required to add a domain?
Do we need to create the "Source URL" pages before they work?EDIT: We can't use the first front slash! Then please add a WARNING about that or filter it off!
