and then handle in JS the situation with few 2 lines of JS, like if the fields are empty ... redirect to page X ...

What I'm looking for is more than just a 404 page so that you can have different error pages/explanations for differente errors. Or am I asking for something I do not really need?

You can customize the 404 page from the pagebuilder
on the left side of the pagebuilder click on the Wrench Icon, then click on "Edit 404 page"
